Job Title: Editorial Intern
Reports To: The Editorial Team Lead and the Managing Editor
The Editorial Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks for the Editorial Team at ONC. The Editorial Desk is one of the last sets of eyes on everything ONC produces, including but not limited to books, policy proposals, solutions, op-eds, and newsletters. Editorial Interns will be responsible for correcting grammatical and stylistic errors in ONC written content, as well as fact-checking this content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy. Editorial Interns collaborate with our Policy Content Writers as well as the rest of the organization. They will keep in constant communication with the Editorial Team Lead and Managing Editor about the status of current projects and deadlines. This intern may have the opportunity to learn how to operate the backend of our website to review external writer’s submissions and approve them.
A competency assessment will be given to candidates who are selected for interviews. This assessment will simply require interviewed candidates to edit an article to resolve grammatical and stylistic errors.
This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. Interns must commit to at least the end of the Fall semester (December 8th, 2025). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Responsibilities:
Edit written content to maintain grammatical integrity for the ONC website and mobile app.
Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work.
Participate in civil dialogue with conservative, progressive, and moderate writers.
Work with script writers and core content writers to ensure consistency in all written materials.
Fact-check written content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
The Editorial Intern should have the following skills, education, and experience:
Current student working towards a degree in English or Literature, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, and/or related fields.
Exceptional writing skills are required (English).
Proficient verbal communication/speaking skills are a plus.
High attention to detail.
Prior editing experience preferred, specifically with AP style.
Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator.
Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines.
Google Workspace experience preferred.
Ability to attend Organization-Wide meetings every other week.
Ability to attend weekly Editorial Team meetings.
Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.

The Role
Viz.ai is seeking an entrepreneurial rockstar that will help lead and drive strategy for some of our most exciting new products and business lines. The Director of Strategy & Innovation role will be responsible for discovering, evaluating, and driving forward new opportunities for Viz, as well as tackling high priority strategic projects throughout the company that will help us grow faster.
As the Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new processes, mentoring junior colleagues, establishing best practices, and navigating ambiguous situations. Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, versatility across multiple disciplines, and the ability to unite cross-functional teams (incl. Business Development, Clinical, Product, and Marketing). You’ll have the opportunity to engage in anything and everything in the pursuit of new Viz opportunities from conception to launch, including primary research & literature reviews, end-user research with physicians, data strategy, business case modeling, building E2E pitch materials, developing initial product prototypes, and pitching Life Science customers. This is a very unique role and comes with a ton of opportunity for both career and personal growth, as well as deep insight into the bleeding edge of AI in healthcare.
The ideal candidate will have a clinical background (MD required), good business sense, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills. Additionally, great candidates will be entrepreneurial self-starters who are team oriented, detailed, strategic thinkers. A growth & learning mindset and creativity are a must.
