What we offer you
The Open Home Foundation is a fully remote organization that uses Remote to employ people from all over the world. You will be a normal salaried employee in your country.
This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Because we are a fully remote company, there is no fixed schedule. For the purpose of team communication, we do try to ensure at least 3 hours of overlap in the workday. You will report to the Home Assistant Lead, who is based in the Netherlands.

Develop and maintain Java-based applications on cloud-based platforms.
Migration of Java applications and core mail services
Identify and implement optimizations, fine-tune / re-architect infrastructure
Integration with existing DevOps and CICD pipelines/environments
Improve future maintainability of the platform and surrounding tools
Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy complex applications on AWS/GCP.
Lead and mentor other engineers throughout design and development
Requirements
Strong back-end experience in software development using Java Object-oriented programming skills
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Experience with AWS or GCP
Understanding of data structures and algorithms
Experience with Distributed Systems and Large Scale Systems
Strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of Design Patterns
Analytical and problem solving skills
SQL and RDS Database
Nice to Have Experience:

Requirements
1+ years experience of proven customer facing experience or experience as a customer service representative
Fluency in English and German is required to be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders
Willing to work weekends and irregular hours which will include night shifts
Strong ability in using IT for professional use and can handle somewhat technical queries from customers
Exceptional written communication skill and a good listener
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and control time effectively
Knowledge of the cryptocurrency/blockchain field is a big plus
Multi-lingual capability is a big plus
