We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team: someone who takes end-to-end ownership of the design process, from discovery to final delivery. The ideal candidate is equally strong in UX and UI, passionate about solving user problems, and skilled at transforming high-level ideas into intuitive user experiences that drive real impact. Although headquartered in downtown Toronto, Ratehub is a remote-first company and as such, we’re open to remote candidates.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Design:

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation to prototyping, validating, and delivering high-impact product experiences that help our users make smart financial decisions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, using research, usability testing, A/B testing, and other analytical tools to understand and validate ideas, problems, and solutions, ensuring every decision delivers measurable value to users.
  • Partner with product, engineering, data, marketing, and content teams to translate ideas into meaningful, user-centered experiences.
  • Design responsive and consistent experiences across mobile and desktop.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design feasibility, high-fidelity implementation, and visual and functional accuracy in the final product.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and sprint planning alongside product and engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain design backlogs, and help shape design strategy for the next 6–24 months.
  • Support additional design needs from content and marketing initiatives across Ratehub and MoneySense. 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to align on goals, gather requirements, and co-create solutions.
  • Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Design Systems and Standards:

  • Build and maintain scalable design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products.
  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and deliver inclusive user experiences.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and methodologies.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive designs for web and mobile platforms.
  • Proven ability to own the end-to-end design process: user research, ideation, prototyping, UX/UI design, and usability testing.
  • Strong UX and UI design skills, with excellent attention to detail and a deep understanding of how to craft intuitive, impactful user experiences.
  • High proficiency with Figma.
  • Proven ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to validate design decisions, with proficiency in usability testing tools (e.g., usertesting.com, Maze) and analytics tools (e.g., Heap, Hotjar)
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Skilled at breaking down complex problems into simple, intuitive solutions and iterating quickly based on feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining scalable, component-based design systems using modern design principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present design rationale and align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bias toward action — balancing quality and speed, knowing when to dive deep and when to move quickly
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and experienced in designing 0→1 products and features.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in UX Design or a related field.

  • Experience working with Storybook or Wordpress.

This is a hybrid role that blends hands-on engineering contributions with people leadership responsibilities. On the project, you will work directly as a senior engineer — designing, coding, and delivering secure, scalable solutions. At the same time, you will manage and mentor engineers within IronArch, helping grow talent and guide career development, whether those reports are directly staffed on CAMP, or not. You will be the prime partner to the Technical Lead: while the Tech Lead sets architectural direction, you will drive delivery execution, build team capacity, and create an environment where engineers thrive. 


On the people management side, you will also be responsible for managing 3–5 engineers. This includes checking on how their work is going, fostering professional development, providing technical mentorship, and meeting regularly with them. Some team members may support initiatives beyond the one you are staffed to, requiring adaptive leadership and resource management across a matrixed environment. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Contribute directly as a hands-on engineer — designing, building, and reviewing secure, cloud-native code in CAMP’s AWS-based architecture. 
  • Partner with the Technical Lead to ensure architecture translates into timely, high-quality delivery. 
  • Ensure best practices are followed for DevSecOps, automated testing, Section 508 accessibility, and OWASP security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Support Inbox Management

  • Monitor and triage the customer support inbox, ensuring timely responses to inbound requests.

  • Process orders and transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy and organization.

Data Entry & User Management

  • Perform accurate data entry, including setting up new users and updating existing customer details.

  • Maintain up-to-date templates and ensure all information is correctly recorded for smooth fulfillment.

Cross-Brand Support

  • Support multiple brands within the organization, ensuring alignment and consistency across customer support operations.

Ticket Management

  • Use Zendesk and similar tools to manage tickets, track progress, and ensure all customer inquiries are addressed promptly.

Backend Administrative Support

  • Assist with backend processes such as organizing templates, distributing materials, and managing incoming requests to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in customer support, preferably in a B2B environment.

  • Previous experience using ticket management systems (such as Zendesk) is highly valued.

  • Background in client-facing roles, handling customer inquiries and service-related communications.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a professional and empathetic tone.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and data manipulation functions.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new platforms quickly (training provided).
