Who are Heidi?
Heidi is on a mission to halve the time it takes to deliver world-class care.
We believe that by 2050, every clinician will practice with AI systems that free them from administrative burdens and increase the quality and accessibility of care to patients across the world.
Built for clinicians, by clinicians, at the core of Heidi is its people. We are an eclectic bunch of inventors, builders, scientists, nurses, doctors, mathematicians, designers, creatives, and high-agency executors.
We achieve in 6 months what it takes our competitors 4 years to do. In just 12 months, 20 million patient consults were supported by Heidi, and we’re now powering more than 1 million consults every week.
With our most recent $16.6MM round of funding from leading VC firms, we’re geared up to supercharge our ambitious global growth, starting with the US, Canada, UK and Europe - and we need great people like you to get there. Ready for the challenge?
We’re looking for a Client Platform Engineering Manager to lead the teams that owns the foundational architecture across Heidi’s products.
The Role
The Client Platform Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the team that builds and maintains the foundational frontend architecture across Heidi’s products — including desktop, mobile, and web clients. This team owns the design system, component library, build tooling, and platform capabilities that enable product teams to ship high-quality, accessible, and consistent user experiences.
You’ll lead a small, high-leverage team that works horizontally across pods to drive technical excellence, reduce duplication, and unlock developer velocity across our client surfaces.
You’ll work cross-functionally with product, solutions engineering, and sales to ensure enterprise features are delivered with reliability and velocity. You’ll also help shape how Heidi scales its platform to support increasingly complex customer environments without compromising developer productivity.
What you'll do:
You’ll work side by side with our engineering mastermind to shape the infrastructure behind the future of healthcare:
Own Heidi’s Frontend Platform: Lead the technical strategy, development, and maintenance of core client infrastructure — including the design system, shared UI components, performance tooling, and accessibility standards.
Drive Developer Productivity: Build tooling and abstractions that improve the day-to-day experience of frontend engineers and allow product teams to focus on feature development.
Unify Cross-Platform Experiences: Collaborate with design and product to ensure consistent, performant experiences across desktop, mobile, and web clients.
Foster Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in frontend architecture, testing, performance, and accessibility across the org.
Support Teams Through Change: Guide the org through architectural migrations or upgrades (e.g., framework changes, mobile app refactors), ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption.
Lead and Develop the Team: Hire, mentor, and support engineers on the Client Platform team, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and growth.
What we’ll look for:
8–10+ years of engineer management experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role.
Proven track record building and scaling production systems in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
Deep knowledge of infrastructure automation, CI/CD tooling, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Expertise in monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
Experience with secrets management, service mesh, and distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in healthcare.
Comfort with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Bonus: Experience in healthtech, startups, or regulated industries.
What do we believe in?
We create unconventional solutions to difficult problems and we build them fast. We want you to set impossible goals and make them happen, think landing a rocket but the medical version.
You'll be surrounded by a world-class team of engineers, medicos and designers to do your best work, inspired by our shared beliefs:
We will stop at nothing to improve patient care across the world.
We design user experiences for joy and ship them fast.
We make decisions in a flat hierarchy that prioritizes the truth over rank.
We provide the resources for people to succeed and give them the freedom to do it.
Why you’ll flourish working with us 🚀?
Flexible work with a hybrid environment
Additional paid day off for your birthday and wellness days
Discounted corporate gym memberships
A generous personal development budget of $500 per annum
Learn from some of the best engineers and creatives, joining a diverse team
