Upgrade: AI Experience Engineer (Conversational AI)
Company: Location: Remote Published: 2026-10-15
Headquarters: Canada (Remote)
About the Role:An AI Experience Engineer owns the full lifecycle of the journeys our customers have with Upgrade's AI agent on chat, voice and email: creation, optimization, edge case handling and containment growth. They build journeys in Sierra's no-code tooling, partner with Upgrade's product groups to bring their servicing flows to the agent, and are accountable for whether the agent resolves the customer's issue safely, accurately and without a human.
We are hiring an AI Experience Engineer to own Upgrade's customer-facing AI agent. You will sit between engineering, product and customer operations. You will turn servicing workflows, such as making a payment, checking loan details, updating an address or enabling autopay, into production journeys and keep improving them after launch. You will build and own the journeys end to end, from first draft to steady state. The work is part builder, part analyst: design the flow, handle the edge cases, read the transcripts, and keep raising containment. Containment, CSAT, transfer quality and hallucination rate are your metrics.
Within your first year, you will own a portfolio of journeys across products (Personal Loans, Card, BNPL, HELOC, Deposits) and help set the standards for how Upgrade builds, tests and ships AI experiences.
Our Core Technologies
Sierra Agent Studio (no-code journeys), Sierra simulations and conversation analytics, GraphQL and REST APIs (as journey tools), Genesys (contact center handoff), SumoLogic, Grafana, SQL, Javascript/Typescript, Claude and other LLM tools.
What You'll Do
• Journey creation: Design and build Sierra journeys in Agent Studio for chat, voice and email, from discovery with operations through production rollout
• Optimization: Review transcripts, recordings and analytics every week, find where conversations fail or transfer, and ship fixes to journey logic, instructions and knowledge
• Edge case handling: Map the unhappy paths (failed payments, mismatched identity, delinquent accounts, unsupported requests) and make sure each ends in a correct answer or a clean handoff
• Containment: Own containment and CSAT targets per journey, run staged rollouts (1% → 100%), and prioritize the work that moves those numbers most
• Product partnership: Work with product groups (Personal Loans, Card, BNPL, Deposits) to scope new journeys, keep journeys current as products change, and define the APIs the agent needs
• Safety and compliance: Apply tiered authentication and step-up verification, verbatim compliance language and guardrails against hallucination and off-policy answers
• Handoffs: Design transfers to human agents in Genesys with accurate summaries and auth context
• Testing: Build simulation and regression suites so every journey change ships with evidence it did not break existing behavior
• Monitoring: Watch latency, errors and drop-offs in SumoLogic and Grafana, and own the alerts
• Voice tuning: Latency, filler phrases, interruptions, personality and tone
• Sierra relationship: Be the technical owner on our side, escalate platform issues and shape roadmap asks
What We Look For:
• 3–5 years of Frontend Software Engineering experience, or equivalent experience in Solutions Engineering, Conversational AI or Technical Product roles
• Working knowledge of how LLM agents behave: instructions, tool calls, knowledge retrieval, and where each one fails
• Experience building evaluations for non-deterministic systems: test sets, simulations, LLM-as-judge, regression gates
• Enough technical depth to read API specs, work with backend engineers on REST and GraphQL integrations, and reason about authorization and permission scopes
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to build and maintain coded journeys and integrate APIs within conversational AI platforms.
• Product and customer mindset: you understand ops procedures, you read transcripts, care about tone, and measure success by whether the customer's problem got solved
• Ownership in production: rollouts, monitoring, log analysis and incident response
• Clear writing and the ability to work with non-engineers in operations, compliance and legal
Nice To Have:
• Hands-on experience with Sierra Agent Studio, or a comparable no-code agent platform (Decagon, Ada, Kore.ai, Google CCAI, Amazon Lex/Connect)
• Voice AI experience: speech-to-text, text-to-speech, latency tuning, barge-in handling
• Contact center systems such as Genesys, and agent handoff design
• Background in fintech or another regulated industry (UDAAP, FDCPA, TCPA, PCI, SOC 2)
• Conversation design or UX writing experience
What We Offer You:
• Competitive salary ($140K-$180K CAN) and stock option plan
• Paid coverage of medical, dental and vision insurance
• Flexible PTO
• Opportunities for professional growth and development• Paid parental leave
• Health & wellness initiatives

Abnormal: Customer Solutions Engineer, EMEA
Company: Location: Remote Published: 2026-10-15
Headquarters: Remote - Ireland
About the Role
Abnormal AI is looking for a Customer Solutions Engineer to join the Technical Account Management team. This role gives Abnormal a flexible, technical resource for situations that fall between standard support and a long-term, dedicated Technical Account Manager. Customer Solutions Engineers are floating technical specialists who partner with CSMs for the duration of a specific need, triggered by things like recurring support cases, asks beyond the typical support experience, or short-term project-based work. The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency with strong triage judgment and is comfortable moving between engagements without an existing playbook.
What you will do
Serve as a flexible technical resource CSMs can bring into challenging or recurring account situations that a standard support case isn't built to resolve.
Take on short-term, project-based technical engagements for customers without a dedicated TAM.
Partner with CSMs to assess customer technical needs, join investigative or best-practices calls, and determine the right next step.
Lead hands-on platform optimization: configuration reviews, best-practices setup, and proactive tuning that prevents issues from recurring.
Document session recaps and next steps in the CRM so recommendations are clear to the customer and visible to the broader team.
Advise customers on underused contracted features and flag upsell or professional services/deployment opportunities where relevant.
Recognize when a situation exceeds this role's scope and hand it to the Critical Situation Manager or Technical Support with a clear, documented hand-off.
Surface patterns across engagements to Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive systemic improvement.
Must Haves
3+ years in a customer-facing technical role (email infrastructure, IT security/administration, engineering, or technical support) in enterprise SaaS or cybersecurity
Solid grounding in Abnormal's platform and configuration best practices, sufficient to work independently with customers without a senior technical resource in the room
Strong triage judgment; able to recognize quickly whether a situation calls for hands-on technical guidance or a more senior technical resource
Comfortable stepping into a customer relationship for a defined engagement and stepping back out; this is not a standing account-ownership role
Able to manage multiple concurrent, time-bound engagements across a broad book of business rather than a fixed set of named accounts
Excellent communication skills across technical and business stakeholders, including comfort presenting to senior customer stakeholders
Nice to Have
Familiarity with email authentication/delivery protocols and cloud email platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
Prior experience in a floating/pooled technical resource model (e.g., professional services, deployment, or solutions engineering)
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience

Partner with Content and Product Marketing to adapt or build webinar content that lands with EMEA audiences
Build and optimize registration pages, forms, and workflows for EMEA campaigns

Collaborate with Demand Gen, Marketing Ops & Sales to ensure EMEA lead capture, routing, and follow-up happen correctly and quickly
Manage attendee communication throughout the event lifecycle
Performance & optimization
Track EMEA event performance - pipeline, revenue, deal acceleration, and event engagement
Share insights and recommendations to continually improve ROI and attendee experience across the region
Maintain documentation, templates, and repeatable workflows that make running EMEA events smoother and more scalable

Strong project management skills - you juggle timelines, tasks, and teams (and time zones) with ease
Experience collaborating with Sales and supporting event-driven follow-up
Comfortable with marketing automation tools (Customer.io, Marketo, etc.) and Salesforce
Familiarity with webinar platforms (Livestorm, Zoom, Sequel) and event management tools

Ability to partner with Rev/Marketing Ops to troubleshoot data flows and ensure clean reporting
Comfortable with 15%+ travel

About the Role
Cybercrime doesn't wait for anyone to catch up to it, and neither do we. Abnormal AI is looking for an Enterprise Account Executive to join our SLED team, selling behavioral AI security solutions into large, complex State, Local, and Education agencies within a defined territory.
We didn't bolt AI onto old security tools. We built our platform from AI up, to catch the human-targeted attacks that legacy tools miss, and public sector organizations need that protection as much as anyone.
The ideal candidate is local to the Sacramento area and brings experience selling cybersecurity solutions into large public sector environments, particularly Enterprise-level SLED organizations, along with:
Proven hunter focused on selling to large state and local government agencies, with a disciplined approach to early pipeline development and prospecting.
Skilled at leveraging all five demand generation pillars: AE prospecting, SDRs, marketing, channel partnerships, and customer referrals.
Strong qualifier with the ability to uncover public sector pain points and map them to compelling, value-driven solutions.
Effective presenter who tailors demos and messaging to resonate with government stakeholders and address their specific challenges.
Process-oriented with a consistent sales methodology and strong time management skills to manage multiple deals efficiently.
Data-disciplined, maintaining accurate and up-to-date account and opportunity data across systems.
Experienced in building business cases that quantify ROI and value for diverse public sector audiences, including IT, procurement, and leadership.
Knowledge sharer who captures and organizes customer insights and lessons learned to support team learning.
Skilled at guiding public sector customers through complex internal buying processes, including procurement and RFP cycles.
Resilient and resourceful, with a strong track record of success in early-stage environments.
Effective at leveraging internal teams such as Sales Engineering, Marketing, BDRs, Product, and Customer Success to drive results in the SLED space.
What You Will Do
Sell Abnormal AI solutions to large Enterprise SLED agencies with a mandate to overachieve new annual recurring revenue quota, not just hit it.
Run the full deal cycle in your accounts: first conversation, technical evaluation, contract signature, and the upsell conversations that follow once they're a customer.
Prospect and build new business opportunities to keep your pipeline ahead of target.
Sell a platform that's actively expanding underneath you: what started as email security now covers identity, AI security, and insider threat, giving you more surface area to bring value to every agency.
Partner with Customer Success to protect timely renewals and surface expansion opportunities.
Keep your data sharp across Salesforce, Highspot, and Close Plan, because accurate pipeline is how the whole team plans and wins.
Be the customer's advocate inside Abnormal, working with Sales Engineering, Product, and Marketing to get the right things prioritized so more revenue closes, faster.
Must Haves
Enterprise SLED Account Hunter: 8+ years of direct (not overlay) enterprise sales experience prospecting and closing large, complex SLED accounts.
A proven track record of both closing new account logos and growing existing accounts through cross-sell and upsell within the State of California.
Negotiation skill that holds up against large organizations and complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
A track record to back it up: consistent over-quota performance, ideally top 5% of your sales org.
Technical fluency across security, email, cloud, and AI, enough to hold your own in a conversation with a security or IT leader.
Cybersecurity or security-adjacent SaaS sales experience, selling subscription software to CISOs and security personnel.
A builder's mindset: you've thrived somewhere early-stage, an underdog, or up against bigger incumbents, and you know how to build territory with limited resources.
Comfort selling within a company that's still writing its next chapter. We're growing 40%+ year over year, protecting more than 4,500 customers including over 25% of the Fortune 500, and expanding fast from email into identity, AI security, and insider threat. That means more to sell, more to learn, and more room to make your mark than a mature market leader can offer.
#LI-LB2Actual compensation will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.Base salary range:$157,250—$185,000 USDA note on AI in our process: Abnormal AI uses AI-assisted tools to help our recruiting team prepare for candidate interviews. Hi, my name is Caitlin, Senior Manager, Technical Support at Customer.io, and I'm looking for an Email Deliverability Specialist to join our deliverability program within Technical Support. You'll help customers reach the inbox by diagnosing sending issues, advising on best practices, and guiding senders through an email ecosystem that keeps changing.
You'll be one of several deliverability experts on a team that shares knowledge across Technical Support, so your work reaches well beyond your own queue. You'll partner with Customer Success, Technical Support, and Engineering: taking customer calls, equipping CSMs for customer conversations, working through complex technical cases alongside Engineering, and turning what you see in tickets into documentation, training, and better processes.
You'll thrive here if you think about the health of the whole program, enjoy improving how work gets done, and are equally comfortable digging into a detailed case and having a direct conversation with a customer about acceptable use.
What we value
Empathy and curiosity: You approach every customer with patience and a desire to dig deeper, especially when a conversation gets uncomfortable.
Clarity: You explain complex technical concepts simply and help others do the same.
Collaboration: You build strong partnerships across Support, Customer Success, and Engineering, and you treat customer outcomes as a shared goal.
Thinking at scale: You look at how we do things today and see what could work better for the whole organization, then you help make it happen.
Continuous learning: You stay ahead of evolving standards and see change as a chance to improve how we work.
What you'll do
Act as a trusted deliverability advisor to customers, handling complex cases through to full resolution and leading customer calls when a conversation needs it
Audit sender setup and monitor reputation across IPs and domains, using authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and BIMI, DNS configuration, and provider tools like Google Postmaster Tools, Yahoo Sender Hub, and Microsoft SNDS to diagnose blocklists, spam traps, and engagement drops
Work through highly technical issues with Engineering, taking ownership of the investigation first and sharing trends from customer cases with Product and Engineering
Identify acceptable use policy violations and spam complaints, hold clear and direct conversations with customers about compliance, and keep up with evolving standards (Gmail and Yahoo sender requirements, CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
Equip CSMs and Technical Support with the knowledge to handle deliverability conversations, through coaching, documentation, and training
Improve processes, tools, and one-to-many resources, such as help content, Academy course and proactive customer guidance, so deliverability support scales across the organization
What we're looking for
2-4 years of experience in email deliverability at a mid-size or large ESP, B2B SaaS company, or marketing automation platform, with exposure to deliverability at scale
Deep understanding of email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI) and infrastructure (SMTP, MTAs, DNS), with the technical comfort to work through complex issues with Engineering
Proficiency with provider data feeds (Google Postmaster Tools, Yahoo Sender Hub, Microsoft SNDS) and third-party deliverability monitoring tools like Everest, MXToolbox, or similar, and the analytical skill to turn bounce, engagement, and blocklist data into clear recommendations
Working knowledge of email compliance and acceptable use standards, and comfort having direct conversations with customers who are sending outside of them
Experience building or improving processes, documentation, or training that help a support or deliverability team scale
Excellent written and verbal communication, including comfort leading customer calls and simplifying technical concepts for any audience
Located in the United States or Canada
Bonus: participation in deliverability communities (M3AAWG, ESPC, or similar) and experience partnering with Customer Success teams
