PressW: UX Designer
Company: Location: Remote Published: 2026-08-04
Headquarters: Remote, United States

About PressW
PressW is where some of the world's most ambitious companies come to actually ship AI.
We're redefining how businesses harness AI by building real systems for real clients, not just selling slides about what's possible. We're a team of three exited AI founders and a group of Applied AI Engineers based in Austin, and we've been heads-down for the last few years building this firm into something we're proud of: more than 70 production AI solutions shipped, 40+ clients across seven industries, and over $50M in measurable profit gains delivered. We work on the bleeding edge of what AI can do, guide our clients to the right solutions for their business, and ship the infrastructure they run on.
We sell across three divisions. Managed AI is our MSP, purpose-built for institutional investors: private equity firms, venture capital funds, asset managers, and capital markets clients. We map how a firm actually works, deploy custom agents into the workflows that consume deal teams' time (reading deal documents, drafting IC memos, scoring targets, triaging inbound, structuring offers, monitoring portfolio companies), and keep evolving those systems as models and firm needs change. AI Engineering embeds our teams directly with clients to build and harden production AI systems. AI Transformation handles roadmap and readiness work, helping leaders figure out what to build, in what order, and how to prepare for it.
Job Description
You will own the user experience for PressW's healthcare scheduling platform rebuild (codename Phoenix), reporting to Engineering Leadership. The platform serves hundreds of thousands of workers across mobile and web, plus an admin interface used by 1,000+ healthcare facilities. Every user-facing surface is being rebuilt from scratch, and you are the person who determines what the new experience looks and feels like.
This role starts before any frontend code is written. Your first months are research: auditing the existing platform's workflows, understanding where users struggle (template management is the #1 pain point and the top churn driver), and conducting customer research with the client's product and CS teams. That research directly informs the API design for each service group and the frontend architecture. By the time frontend engineering begins (~week 20-24), you have months of research behind the design system and component library you're handing off.
Responsibilities
Lead internal platform audit and customer research (Phases 0-2). Map existing workflows, pain points, and user patterns. Work directly with the client's product and customer success teams to understand what needs to change and why.
Provide API design input during backend service group migrations (Phase 3). The REST API shapes should reflect how users actually work, not just how the database is structured.
Design the complete user experience across two frontend batches: worker-facing (schedule viewing, shift pickup, messaging, push notifications) and admin-facing (template management, schedule building, reporting, compliance). The admin batch is where the platform's NPS moves.
Build and maintain the design system and component library. Establish patterns for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA target), responsive design, and consistency across web and mobile.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Conduct usability testing to validate decisions before and during rollout.
Participate in frontend rollout feedback: usability testing with real users during wave rollouts, synthesizing feedback, and iterating on the design.
Present research findings and design decisions in weekly UX reviews with the Frontend Lead and client product team.
Qualifications
Strong UX design experience with both web and mobile applications.
Experience conducting user research and translating findings into product design decisions.
Experience designing for complex, workflow-heavy applications (scheduling, operations, admin tooling, or similar).
Experience with legacy system transformation: understanding existing workflows well enough to redesign them without losing what works.
Ability to design for systems involving APIs and data integrations, with an understanding of how backend structure impacts UX decisions.
Proficiency with Figma or similar design tools.
Strong communication skills. You will present research findings and defend design decisions to both engineers and client stakeholders.
Must have shipped meaningful design work in the last 2 years.
Preferred
Healthcare or regulated-environment design experience.
Design system and component library ownership.
Accessibility (WCAG) expertise.
Comfort with AI design tooling for quick iteration and prototyping.
Experience working in cross-functional teams alongside engineers on active builds.
Why Join PressW
You own the user experience end-to-end for a platform that hundreds of thousands of people use daily. Research through rollout, two apps, two audiences. Small team, high autonomy, real stakes.
PressW is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Please note that only qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview. Thank you for your interest in PressW!

We’re looking for a Design System Designer to contribute to the evolution of our design system across product and engineering.
The role combines systems thinking with hands-on design of design system components — working within the UI kit and design system context to define, refine, and maintain reusable UI elements (inputs, controls, patterns), in close collaboration with product designers.In this role, you will be responsible for the consistency, quality, and ongoing evolution of the design system across product teams.This is a collaborative role at the intersection of design and engineering, working closely with frontend engineers and product designers to align standards and implementation practices.Join our team and help shape the future of live entertainment!
Responsibilities
Work on evolving and maintaining our existing UI foundation in Figma, Storybook, and code;
Design and refine core UI components (inputs, buttons, form elements, patterns other UI components and patterns) as part of the design system;
Refine and extend a scalable token architecture (primitive → semantic → component) with support for theming;
Improve alignment between Figma, frontend implementation, and Storybook to ensure consistency across the product;
Contribute to and improve the design-to-code workflow using Figma Variables, Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary, and CI/CD pipelines;
Support migration of components toward a token-based structure, starting with the most impactful areas;
Help shape and maintain contribution guidelines and system standards for design and engineering teams;
Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to make the system easy to understand and use;
Explore and support AI-assisted workflows, including structured and machine-readable design system practices.

Familiarity with token tooling such as Style Dictionary, Tokens Studio, or equivalent;
Strong systems thinking — able to see patterns, dependencies, and long-term implications across design and code;
Practical mindset focused on building solutions that teams can realistically adopt and maintain.
Who you are
Think in systems, patterns, and trade-offs rather than isolated UI tasks;
Comfortable making decisions about when to introduce new components versus extending existing ones;
Value pragmatic solutions that improve long-term maintainability over short-term visual fixes;
Work naturally in cross-functional environments with both designers and engineers;
Care about clarity, consistency, and usability of design systems as a shared foundation.

IISD: Consultancy for the Design and Production of Four Animated Videos Showcasing SUNCASA’s Achievements and Inspiring Youth Engagement in Sustaining Project Results
Company: Location: Remote Published: 2026-08-04
Headquarters: Dire Dawa, Ethiopia
URL: http://iisd.org
Background
The Scaling Urban Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa (SUNCASA) is a 3-year project aiming at enhancing climate resilience and promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and biodiversity protection across three cities: Dire Dawa (Ethiopia), Kigali (Rwanda) and Johannesburg (South Africa).
Led by the International Institute for Sustainable Development and the World Resources Institute, and implemented in partnership with local organizations and communities, SUNCASA seeks to address climate change impacts—such as floods, landslides, and soil erosion—through gender-responsive and socially inclusive NbS. These include afforestation, reforestation, agroforestry, urban greening, the removal of invasive alien species, and the creation of vegetated buffer zones in flood-prone areas.
Entering its third and final year of the current implementation phase, SUNCASA is already achieving significant results, generating measurable adaptation outcomes and strengthening the resilience of communities and landscapes across its project sites. To sustain these achievements beyond the project time frame, SUNCASA is investing in building local ownership and stewardship, with a particular emphasis on engaging children and youth as future custodians of their environments. For more information, visit www.suncasa.org.
As part of this effort, SUNCASA is developing a series of four animated videos, with stories and scripts co-created alongside local partners to ensure they reflect community realities, priorities, and cultural contexts. Through engaging storytelling and accessible messages, the animations will encourage young audiences to understand the importance of protecting local ecosystems and livelihoods, recognize their role in sustaining climate adaptation efforts, and contribute to building more resilient and sustainable communities.

Within the framework of SUNCASA’s Communications Strategy, IISD is seeking an experienced animator or animation studio to conceptualize, design, and produce a series of three animated videos showcasing the project's NbS impacts and highlighting the role of local youth in sustaining these achievements across SUNCASA's three project cities. A fourth animation will focus on promoting the project's gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) approach.
Working closely with SUNCASA's Communications team and representatives from the project's local partners, the consultant will be responsible for translating existing scripts into engaging visual narratives through the development of high-quality animations of approximately 2–2.5 minutes each. The videos should communicate the project's approach, results, and impact in a way that is compelling, accessible, and suitable for diverse audiences, with a particular focus on young people. Animations and supporting illustrations must be designed on Adobe Creative Cloud software—After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign.
SUNCASA will provide relevant reference materials—including photographs, videos, project documentation, and brand assets—to inform the visual concept, character design, and storytelling. The animations will be based on scripts co-created with local partners to ensure they authentically reflect the social, cultural, and environmental contexts of each project location. The consultant will be expected to develop a distinctive visual style that resonates with local audiences while maintaining consistency across the animation series.
The animations are expected to be developed primarily in English. The SUNCASA Communications team will provide all voiceover and dialogue recordings, including versions in local languages such as Amharic, Afaan Oromo, and Kinyarwanda, which the consultant will integrate into the final productions. The assignment covers the full animation production process, including visual concept development, character and environment design, storyboarding, illustration, animation, editing, and post-production.
Final deliverables will include landscape and portrait versions of each animation, optimized for web, social media, and mobile platforms. The consultant will also provide all editable source files—including artwork, illustrations, animation assets, and project files—to allow future adaptation and reuse by the SUNCASA Communications team.
The completed animations will support educational and awareness-raising activities led by SUNCASA’s local partners, particularly among children and youth. They will also be disseminated through community WhatsApp and Telegram groups and promoted through SUNCASA’s and partners’ websites and social media channels, helping to expand outreach, strengthen engagement, and reinforce the long-term sustainability of project outcomes.
