InsideTrack seeks a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team in the position of Associate Vice President of Development. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Partner Success, you will play a pivotal role in our development efforts to support our coaching and training programs for post-secondary education and career advancement initiatives. The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in the mission of InsideTrack and possess a strategic mindset, tactical execution abilities, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in making a compelling case for organizational support.
Candidates are expected to have deep knowledge of the postsecondary education and career advancement landscape and strong connections with foundations, using both to increase the number of philanthropic organizations supporting InsideTrack.
The selected candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently while working within a team-based environment. Expectations are to raise $3M+ in the first twelve months, and $5M+ annually thereafter from national and regional funding sources.
This role will provide thought leadership internally and externally, including speaking at conferences, publishing opinion pieces and participating in conversations with other higher ed leaders. You’ll be a strong team player, leveraging your expertise and that of those around you. You’ll frequently work in a collaborative approach and will be willing to roll up your sleeves to ensure success.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies:

Devise and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies (grant concepts, letters of intent, and proposals) aligned with the organization's post-secondary education & career development goals.

Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including foundations, corporations, and individuals.

Donation Solicitation:

Build upon our foundation relationships to increase the frequency and size of donations.

Identify and develop relationships with new funders.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate fundraising efforts seamlessly into overall organizational goals.

Foster a culture of excellence and achievement in fundraising.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship:

Develop and implement organizational donor engagement strategies to enhance the donor experience.

Ensure timely and meaningful stewardship of donors, recognizing their impact on our initiatives.

Marketing & Event Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with the events team to ensure events align with the overall philanthropic strategy.

Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure marketing messaging and communications align with the overall philanthropic strategy.

Reporting:

Track and coordinate formal funder reports, including mid-term and final reports.

Work cross-functionally to ensure the correct information is being tracked and analyzed for each funder and initiative.

Qualifications: An ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience

Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on philanthropic gifts in the six-figure and seven-figure range.

Experience with post-secondary education and career pathways and a passion for advancing educational and career opportunities.

Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex issues so they are clearly understood by a variety of audiences.

Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills, with significant experience in concept creation and proposal development.

A firm commitment to equity in the workplace and the achievement of equitable outcomes for minoritized students/individuals.

An ability to operate both independently and as a member of a high-functioning team as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of the organization.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Master’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

Preferences:

Experience working for or with a foundation/philanthropic organization that focuses on post-secondary education and career development. Experience with and knowledge of the higher education landscape and workforce development is a plus.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires domestic travel approximately 15-25% of the time to attend sales presentations, conferences and internal and external business meetings that include overnight travel. At times, travel demands may be greater, including in the first year.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and other office equipment. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and presentations. Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.

Role and Responsibilities

We’re looking for a driven and resourceful Sales Strategist to take full ownership of our outbound sales efforts. In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying new lead sources, launching targeted outreach campaigns, and booking qualified meetings with decision-makers. You’ll own the top of our sales funnel and lead sales conversations, taking discovery calls with potential clients and helping move opportunities forward.

Beyond outreach, you’ll help keep our sales operations running smoothly—from maintaining clean CRM data to coordinating calendars and supporting key sales initiatives. You will:

Research and evaluate new platforms, tools, and strategies to generate high-quality leads
Launch and manage outbound campaigns via calls, email, and LinkedIn
Engage with warm and cold leads to book and lead discovery calls
Conduct sales calls with prospective clients, identifying pain points and presenting solutions
Keep our CRM organized, updated, and optimized for tracking performance
Manage the sales calendar and coordinate with recruiters and leadership on key meetings
Support sales operations with admin tasks such as slide preparation, inbox management, and follow-up documentation

Who You Are

You're an experienced sales support or lead generation professional who knows the recruiting or staffing world and how fast things move. You're persuasive on the phone, tech-savvy with campaign tools, and thrive on keeping systems running clean and tight.

3+ years in sales support, outreach, or appointment setting ideally in staffing or recruiting
Familiar with CRM tools (HubSpot, GoHighLevel, etc.) and outreach platforms (Apollo, Lemlist, etc.)
Strong verbal communication and persuasion skills, especially over the phone
Extremely organized, self-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks
Minimum C1-level English fluency you’ll be on the phone with North American clients and prospects
