Job description
London, United Kingdom We are inviting applications for a research software engineer to be based in the Neuroinformatics Unit, working with the laboratories of Tom Mrsic-Flogel, Sonja Hofer and Tim Behrens in collaboration with the Advanced Microscopy Facility. Our research seeks to understand how the frontal regions of the brain build circuits for cognition (e.g. planning, reasoning, abstraction). The challenge is to identify the precise neural microcircuits that underpin cognitive computations. To achieve this, we image the activity of neurons in a variety of task using benchtop and miniaturise two-photon microscopes, and then perform targeted holographic stimulation of identified neurons to probe their connectivity. This requires a complex pipeline of imaging, signal processing and alignment of multi-modal data sources. You will be responsible for developing and optimising efficient algorithms to process functional brain imaging data including motion correction, segmentation and multimodal registration. These algorithms will then be integrated within existing software packages for data acquisition, analysis and visualisation. This post is funded until September 2028 in the first instance with the possibility of extension subject to grant funding. Informal enquiries regarding the role can be addressed to Adam Tyson (adam.tyson@ucl.ac.uk). A full job description and person specification for this role can be accessed below. To apply, please upload a current CV, complete the online application form, and use the supporting statement section or upload a cover letter to outline how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the role. Please do not upload any additional attachments as these will not be considered by the selection panel. You will have strong programming skills in Python along with extensive experience working with numerical data such as images and timeseries. The ideal candidate will have experience in either image registration or working with multiphoton calcium imaging. You should have a strong interest in building easy to use software to help advance neuroscience and be comfortable working in teams of researchers and software engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience of good software engineering best practices and working on, and with open-source software.

Job description
Remote, United States What We’re Building PJMF is building a suite of AI-enabled tools that will serve as the intelligence layer for modern philanthropy. Every year, foundations and corporate funders deploy hundreds of billions of dollars toward humanity's most pressing challenges—yet they do so using systems designed for compliance, not insight. Program officers spend more time reformatting documents and reconciling spreadsheets than learning from their portfolios or deepening relationships with grant partners. Grant Guardian, PJMF’s existing product, already helps hundreds of foundations use AI to streamline their financial due diligence workflows. The next step is a product that will place AI at the center of strategic philanthropy by automatically distilling grant applications into actionable insights, identifying patterns across thousands of grants, generating board materials in minutes, and lowering barriers for historically excluded organizations through features like proposal feedback and translation. About the role: We are seeking a self-driven Junior DevOps Engineer to contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of data and AI products that support positive social impact around the world. You will support the maintenance of the cloud infrastructure that powers our AI and data products, while contributing to the full-stack applications built on top of it. You will also work directly with nonprofit partners, helping them understand and adopt the tools we build. We are a small team. We work in short cycles and collaborate across disciplines. In this role, you will contribute directly to cloud-based applications that bring AI outputs into real use. This is an early-career, growth-oriented DevOps role designed for engineers who are building foundational experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment systems. The role operates under the guidance of senior engineers and progressively assumes greater responsibility as skills and confidence develop. How You’ll Make An Impact: Cloud infrastructure and operations. Maintain and improve our AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code. This includes VPC configuration, IAM policies, secrets management, logging, backups, and cost controls. Application development. Write frontend and backend production code for shared platform services and internal tooling. Our stack includes primarily Go, Python, JavaScript, and React. CI/CD and automation. Contribute to deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions. Automate testing, container builds, releases, and operational workflows like environment provisioning and dependency updates. Containerization and platform support. Support our Docker-based deployment platform, including build workflows, deployment strategies, and autoscaling. Observability and incident response. Implement and maintain metrics, centralized logging, alerting, and dashboards. Participate in incident response under the direction of senior engineers. Developer experience. Senior Python & SAS Developer (Data Modernization), Illumen Group Inc.

Company Company not specified

Location not specified Publication date unavailable
Job description
Suitland, MD, United States LightFront is seeking a Senior Python & SAS Developer (Data Modernization) to support a long-term Census contract. This role will focus on modernizing legacy federal statistical and survey processing workflows by translating existing logic into scalable Python-based solutions using tools such as pandas, PySpark, and modern data architecture patterns. This is a backend/data modernization role, not a traditional web application role. The developer will support legacy system analysis, backend data processing, database logic optimization, ETL and batch workflows, and cloud-based processing patterns. The work requires someone who is comfortable stepping into established systems, understanding how existing workflows operate, and carefully translating that logic into cleaner, more maintainable solutions without disrupting current operations. This role will be hired initially as a 1099 contractor under LightFront, a joint venture between Illumen Group and Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), with the potential to convert to full-time employment in the new fiscal year. The role is remote after onboarding, but the selected candidate must report to the Census office in Maryland to retrieve equipment and complete PIV-related onboarding. If the candidate is not local, reimbursable travel will be coordinated after onboarding begins. Clearance / eligibility: Candidates must be U.S. Citizens due to federal contract requirements and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. The clearance process typically takes 6–8 weeks, and candidates must be comfortable with that process and timeline before moving forward. The selected candidate will also need to report to the Census office in Maryland for equipment and PIV pickup after onboarding has started. Travel costs will be reimbursed for non-local candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong Python background, with at least 4 years of experience in data processing, backend systems, or similar technical environments. This role requires someone who has worked with legacy systems and can translate existing business or data logic into Python-based solutions using tools such as pandas, PySpark, or similar libraries. Candidates should be comfortable working through unclear, messy, or long-standing workflows where the first step is understanding the current logic before rewriting anything. Candidates should also have at least 4 years of database experience, including writing, refactoring, or optimizing stored procedures, backend logic, and complex SQL. Experience with PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, Oracle PL/SQL, or similar database environments is important. The role also requires experience with data pipelines, batch processing, ETL workflows, job orchestration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. AWS experience is also needed, ideally with services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, IAM, or similar cloud services used in backend or data workflow environments. Linux experience is required, as the role will involve working in Linux-based development and processing environments. Experience with serverless architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, PySpark, R, or hands-on Base SAS production workflows is helpful, but not required. The strongest fit will be someone who has worked with legacy data systems, can translate existing logic rather than only build new features, is comfortable operating in less structured environments, and can balance support for older systems with modern Python, database, and cloud-based workflows.

Job description
Remote, NY, USA OPF is hiring a contract engineer to run the data collection phase of an emissions measurement study comparing edge versus cloud LLM inference across multi-modal AI workloads. The methodology is being designed by external advisors with prior published work on AI carbon measurement; the engineer's role is to implement that methodology rigorously, capture clean instrumented data, and hand it off cleanly to OPF's internal team for analysis and modeling. Findings will appear in a co-branded industry publication backed by a defensible methodology — meaning the public artifact is industry-format, but the underlying data has to withstand potential scrutiny. Engagement scope You will design, build, and run a Python-based testing harness that captures inference runtime, energy consumption, and component-level power across three edge devices and one cloud GPU instance, then deliver clean, documented outputs to the OPF analytical team for downstream modeling. The work spans Windows and Linux, three distinct hardware platforms (Intel Core Ultra with NPU, AMD Ryzen AI with XDNA NPU, NVIDIA L4 cloud GPU), multiple deployments (OpenVINO and Lemonade Server for local; vLLM, Triton, and/or FastAPI for cloud as appropriate per task); and two layers of measurement (software-based estimation and on-die telemetry). The engagement begins with a proof-of-concept phase on the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro laptop, focused on a single task (Basic Queries), to build the harness, telemetry, and methodology end-to-end before scaling to the rest of the platforms and tasks. Following this, a cloud GPU instance must be provisioned for cloud data collection and harness validation. Once the harness has been validated on one laptop and in the cloud environment, the approach will be scaled to the remaining laptops and tasks. Proof-of-concept outcome serves as an interim milestone before proceeding with the remainder of the engagement. See https://onepointfive.notion.site/job-spec-al-ml-engineer for the full job description. Required experience Strong Python proficiency, experimental discipline, and reproducibility practices Hands-on hardware telemetry — Intel RAPL, NVIDIA NVML, plus at least one of Intel SoC Watch / VTune, AMD μProf, or HWiNFO64 Working knowledge of at least one in-scope deployment (OpenVINO, Lemonade Server, vLLM, or Triton) Linux and Windows systems experience, including hardware performance counter telemetry Demonstrated reproducibility discipline: pinned environments, version-controlled configs, documented assumptions Strongly preferred Prior MLPerf Power or MLCommons Power working group submissions Published or contributed to AI energy / carbon measurement research or related sustainability topics Experience with NPU-class accelerators (Intel AI Boost, AMD XDNA, or comparable) Experience with GPU benchmarking methodology — DCGM telemetry, clock-pinning for reproducibility, or comparable practices Comfort working alongside external advisors and delivering well-documented handoffs to a downstream analytical team

Founding ML/Data Scientist (Remote, UK), MyDataValue

Job description
Remote - London UK, United Kingdom We're an AI-driven hospitality tech platform helping vacation rental owners automate their revenue on Booking.com and Airbnb. We sit on Booking.com private API data, Airbnb channel data, and scraped competitive pricing across thousands of properties — and right now we barely use it. Our agent is rules-based where it should be data-driven, and our promotions engine has no model behind it. We're looking for a founding ML/Data Scientist to change that. You'll turn dormant data into a smarter agent and a compounding moat. The Role You'll be the first person to seriously dig into our data, find the signals that drive revenue, and work with engineering to make the agent act on them. Find what matters — dig through Booking.com, Airbnb, and competitive data to separate signal from noise. Separate cause from correlation — when a promotion drives a booking, was it causal? When occupancy drops, is it pricing, seasonality, or competition? We want rigorous answers, not guesses. Turn insights into revenue — translate findings into logic the agent can use, measurably better than a human's. Shape the data strategy — decide what to track, what to enrich, and where the highest-value opportunities are. Ship to production — this isn't a notebooks role. You'll work inside our Django + ClickHouse stack alongside the engineering team. Logistics Remote-first for UK-based candidates. Expect to be in London for WeWork sessions a few days a month, flexibly, for onboarding, planning, and product work. Interview Process 1. 30-min non-technical call with the CTO Take-home data challenge using a sample of real OTA data 1-hour deep dive on your submission with the founding team In-person meeting with both founders Offer Why This Role Unique data — Booking.com private API data, Airbnb channel data, and scraped competitive pricing. This dataset doesn't exist at most companies. Real impact — your models drive revenue decisions for thousands of properties. High equity for our stage. A compounding moat — every property we add makes the data richer and the models better. Salary £70k–£100k · Equity 0.5%–1%. Who You Are A real data scientist who reaches for statistics and experiments first, and knows when a result is significant versus noise. Strong with time series. Causal by instinct — you don't confuse correlation with causation. You can design holdouts and A/B tests, and reason about confounders when a clean experiment isn't possible. Comfortable in the mess — real OTA data is dirty, sparse, and seasonal. You wrangle it, find the signal, and build features that predict revenue. Fluent in modelling — forecasting, uplift and causal models, and the judgement to pick the simplest thing that works. Ships to production — not a notebooks role. You write clean, deployable Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and get your models live in our Django and ClickHouse stack. A product thinker who cares about revenue impact, not what's technically interesting. AI-first — you use AI coding tools with multiple agents to ship faster, ideally pushing into self-learning ML or agentic workflows. If you don't already use frontier AI tools, this isn't the role for you. Skills: Python · pandas · NumPy · scikit-learn · Time Series · Causal Inference · Forecasting · Experimentation · PostgreSQL · ClickHouse · Django · AI agents

Job description
Bangalore, Pune, India We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Python / AI Engineer to join our team and help us build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise systems. We are actively investing in LLMs, agentic workflows, and applied AI systems, but much of this potential is still untapped. Today, our AI initiatives are fragmented—PoCs exist in silos, LLM integrations are early-stage, and there is no unified intelligence layer across the application landscape. We’re looking for someone who can change that. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, R&D, and business teams, turning AI experimentation into production-grade systems that deliver measurable impact. This is not a “model training-only” role—you will be expected to design, build, and ship end-to-end AI solutions. The Role You will be the first deep technical owner responsible for turning our AI ambition into real, working systems that drive business outcomes. Build and productionize AI systems — Design and implement LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and intelligent automation workflows that integrate directly into our core product ecosystem. Develop PoCs and scale them into production — Rapidly prototype AI/ML solutions, validate feasibility with stakeholders, and evolve them into scalable, reliable services. Integrate LLMs into real business workflows — Work with APIs, orchestration frameworks, and model providers to embed LLM capabilities across applications (chat, reasoning, summarization, retrieval, and automation use cases). Design intelligent systems, not just models — Focus on end-to-end architecture: data flow, prompt orchestration, memory, evaluation, guardrails, and feedback loops. Bridge R&D and engineering — Translate research ideas and business problems into working AI systems that can be deployed, monitored, and improved iteratively. Drive AI adoption across the organization — Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve efficiency or decision-making. Skills required: 1.Minimum 8+ years of experience in AI/ML development. 2.Advanced proficiency in Python. 3.Strong understanding of AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). 4.Expertise in at least one LLM (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA). 5.Solid foundation in Data Science and statistical modeling. 6.Experience with Agentic Workflows using LangChain-based agents. 7.Hands-on experience with LangGraph (e.g., hackathons or MCPs). 8.Deep understanding of fine-tuning techniques for LLMs. 9.Hands-on experience with Transformer architecture and its evolution from earlier models. Responsibilities: 1.Design and develop PoCs and present them to business stakeholders. 2.Build and deploy innovative AI solutions using state-of-the-art models. 3.Integrate LLMs into existing and new applications. 4.Develop new functionalities within R&D applications. 5.Promote and implement best process practices across AI development workflows.

Job description
Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom THE OPPORTUNITY You will build and own the modelling-and-learning capability at the heart of LumiAIres: the simulation, encoding–decoding, and machine-learning layer that makes light compute. This is a durable company function: the digital twins, encoding schemes, and readout models you build become reusable assets across every product generation and customer programme. Your immediate focus is our current flagship programme, LUMINA, which leads the high-fidelity digital twin and encoding–decoding scheme, turning the twin into the customer-facing pre-evaluation environment that lets integrators assess our technology before silicon is in hand. Our photonic core behaves as a physical computing medium. Your job is to model how light computes inside it and to train the models that read the answer out. You will work closely with the Integrated Photonics Lead on physical validity, with our academic partners on encoding–decoding, with the Applied Photonics Engineer on validating predictions against measured silicon, and with the Full-Stack Software Engineer on productising the twin. You are the bridge between physics and learning, modelling how light computes inside our photonic core, and training the models that read the answer out. As we scale, this role can grow into ownership of LumiAIres' modelling and machine-learning function and the team behind it. CONTRACT & PROGRESSION CONTRACT TYPE: 18-Month Fixed Term Contract LOCATION: Glasgow, Scotland (Hybrid) SALARY: TBC per annum REPORTS TO: CTO (currently the CEO) POTENTIAL FOR PERMANENT ROLE: Yes — Glasgow or Paris (determined within the first 12 months) START DATE: To be agreed This role is offered initially as an 18-month Fixed Term Contract based in Glasgow. Given the portable nature of the modelling work, the permanent position offers location flexibility as the company scales. WHY LUMIAIRES Work at the frontier of photonic AI, technology with the potential to reshape how the world processes information. A founding team with deep expertise in photonics, neuromorphic computing, and commercial strategy. Exposure to global investors, strategic partners, and government stakeholders from day one. A genuinely values-led company building for the long term. Flexible, trust-based culture with real ownership and impact. HOW TO APPLY To express interest in this role, please send a CV and a short covering note describing your background in optical or photonic simulation and machine learning, any modelling or digital-twin work you have delivered, and what draws you to photonic computing. Applications and initial conversations are treated in strict confidence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The role is structured around four core pillars: Photonic & Optical Simulation Model the photonic core and full signal chain using established optical-simulation and numerical wave-propagation methods. Build, maintain, and validate the high-fidelity digital twin of the photonic processor. Quantify how design and fabrication choices affect computational behaviour, feeding insight back to the photonic design team. Encoding, Decoding & Core Behaviour Design and optimise input encoding and output decoding schemes for the photonic platform. Characterise how the photonic core behaves as a physical computing medium. Co-own encoding–decoding optimisation with our academic partners. Machine Learning & Readout Develop the readout models and associated training pipelines. Build the learning loop that improves inference over time and feeds our software tools. Optimise the mapping of machine learning inference onto the photonic hardware. Customer-Ready Twins & Validation Harden the digital twin into a pre-evaluation environment that integrators can run, with the Full-Stack Software Engineer and the Strategic Partners Lead. Validate twin predictions against measured silicon in partnership with the Applied Photonics Engineer. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A strong computational scientist or engineer with an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in applied mathematics, computational or theoretical physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Strong optical and photonic simulation skills, including transfer-matrix and numerical wave-propagation methods (or equivalent). A grounding in practical machine learning — model training, evaluation, and pipeline development (Python; NumPy / SciPy and PyTorch / JAX or similar). Strong scientific software practice and the ability to turn physics into validated, maintainable code. Familiarity with photonic neural networks, optical, or neuromorphic computing is a strong advantage. Experience with digital-twin or hardware-in-the-loop modelling, active-learning methods, or working alongside experimental and academic teams is welcome. Comfort in an early-stage, fast-moving environment where structure is built, not inherited.

Job description
Remote, Remote, Remote Role Overview: This position is within a project with one of the foundational LLM companies. The goal is to assist these foundational LLM companies in enhancing their Large Language Models. One way we help these companies improve their models is by providing them with high-quality proprietary data. This data serves two main purposes: first, as a basis for fine-tuning their models, and second, as an evaluation set to benchmark the performance of their models or competitor models. For example, for SFT data generation, you might have to put together or be provided a prompt which contains provided code and questions, you will then provide the model responses, and write corresponding Python code to solve the questions. For RLHF data generation, you may need to create a prompt yourself or use one provided by the customer, ask the model questions, and evaluate the outputs generated by two versions of the LLM. You'll compare these outputs and provide feedback, which is then used to fine-tune the models. Please note that this role does not involve building or fine-tuning LLMs. What does day-to-day look like: Design, develop, and maintain efficient, high-quality Python code to train and optimize AI models. Conduct evaluations (Evals) to benchmark model performance and analyze results for continuous improvement. Familiarity with Python frameworks and libraries Evaluate and rank AI model responses to user queries across diverse domains, ensuring alignment with predefined criteria. Develop comprehensive explanations and rationales for evaluations, showcasing excellent reasoning and technical expertise. Lead efforts in Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), including creating and maintaining high-quality, task-specific datasets. Collaborate with researchers and annotators to execute Reinforcement Learning with Human * Feedback (RLHF) and refine reward models. Design innovative evaluation strategies and processes to improve the model's alignment with user needs and ethical guidelines. Create and refine optimal responses to improve AI performance, emphasizing clarity, relevance, and technical accuracy. Conduct thorough peer reviews of code and documentation, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve model performance and contribute to product enhancements. Continuously explore and integrate new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance AI training processes. Requirements: 3+ years of strong experience with Python programming language. Industry experience and knowledge of code quality, formatting, and best practices of software development Experience with Python’s testing ecosystem, including unit, integration, and property-based testing. Knowledge of multi-threading and asynchronous programming in Python. Ability to work with architectural patterns and refactor code without introducing regressions. Strong debugging skills, including fixing memory and concurrency issues. Fluent in conversational and written English communication skills

Remote (US Based), Any US State, US Fusionbox is a software engineering consultancy that builds enterprise software the right way. We negotiate the right to open source all our client code, maintain a handful of popular libraries, and our engineers contribute to Django core. We sponsor PyCon, DjangoCon, and Django Girls because we're invested in the ecosystem we build on. We're looking for software engineers who value software design, system architecture, and collaboration. You should be strong in most of these areas: web application security, relational database design (PostgreSQL query plans, indexes, and constraints, not whatever the ORM emits), Django internals, React, and distributed systems. What you'll actually work on: complex state machines for financial workflows, multi-tenant architectures with row-level security, custom database functions when the ORM isn't enough, and React frontends that handle real-time data without being a mess of useEffect race conditions. A note on how we work: we think deeply about the systems we build, and we believe understanding comes from doing the work yourself, not from handing it to a model. If you ship code you don't understand, we're genuinely not a fit, and that's fine. If that paragraph made you nod, we want to hear from you. We're a small team where you'll own features end-to-end (database design to React components) and have opportunities to shape technical decisions. You'll work with a team that practices empathy and values work-life balance. If you match these requirements and wish your job involved more variety and less bureaucracy, let's talk: info@fusionbox.com. 5 years of using Python pythonically 3 years of React Experience Django Experience Preferred US-Based Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and professionally in spoken English.

Job description
Miami Shores, FL, United States Job Description Role Overview: This position is within a project with one of the foundational LLM companies.

Job description
Anywhere, Anywhere, USA The Role You'd be joining a lean, high-leverage engineering team tackling the complexity of legal software — not by pushing longer hours, but by getting genuinely good at working alongside AI. This isn't a "we occasionally use ChatGPT" team. The group is actively figuring out how to hand repetitive engineering work to AI so people can spend their time on the problems that actually need human judgment. If you like tight feedback loops and think of AI as a real engineering collaborator rather than a novelty, this is that kind of team. Compensation, Benefits & Culture Founded by two repeat entrepreneurs who set out to build a company without the usual startup burnout culture — their previous venture picked up multiple workplace-quality awards. The team protects: A sustainable pace Long stretches of uninterrupted deep work A light meeting calendar Comp: USD $135,000 - $185,000 DOE, equity grant appropriate to the role, standard ~40-hour week. Job description
Katy, TX, United States Backend Software Engineer (API-focused) Katy, Texas (full-time onsite) Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 annually Reports to: Software Engineering Manager Visa Sponsorship: Not Available Would you like to be a key member of the development team supporting hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the United States? Are you driven to produce high quality software that makes an impact to our society? Off Duty Management is the leading provider of off duty program solutions to law enforcement agencies and first responders across the United States. We provide the best possible service, protection, and administrative support to the sworn officers of our valued partner agencies. We're building OfficerTRAK, a SaaS platform that our customers depend on, and the API layer is the backbone connecting our Angular web front end, native iOS and Android apps, and internal services. We're looking for a mid-level Backend Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain the FastAPI microservices that power our product. You’ll work across the full lifecycle of a service — from schema and endpoint design, through implementation and testing, to deployment and monitoring in production on AKS. You'll write asynchronous background jobs with Celery, design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries, and build in the authentication, authorization, and security practices our platform depends on. This role suits someone who has shipped production-grade FastAPI services before, cares about test coverage and code quality, and wants real ownership over how our APIs are designed, secured, and scaled. This position is based onsite in our Katy, Texas headquarters. Responsibilities Design and build production-grade FastAPI services — define clean, versioned RESTful API contracts, request/response schemas (Pydantic), and service boundaries within our microservice architecture. Own data modeling and query design — design normalized, performant PostgreSQL schemas, write and optimize SQL queries, and manage migrations (e.g., Alembic) as services evolve. Build reliable asynchronous workflows — design and maintain Celery tasks and queues for background processing, retries, and scheduled jobs. Ship and operate services on our Azure/Kubernetes platform — containerize services, deploy to AKS, and troubleshoot issues in a live production environment. Build in authentication, authorization, and security from the start — implement OAuth2/JWT-based auth, role-based access control, and follow API security best practices (OWASP API Top 10, input validation, secrets management). Write meaningful, layered test coverage — unit, integration, and functional/end-to-end tests (pytest) that give the team confidence to ship quickly. Participate in code reviews and design discussions — give and receive thoughtful feedback and help shape API and data model decisions across the team. Instrument services for observability — add logging, metrics, and tracing so issues can be diagnosed quickly in production. Collaborate cross-functionally — partner with frontend, mobile, and DevOps engineers to define API contracts and keep services aligned with product needs. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines — help maintain automated build, test, and deployment workflows for the services you own. ***Immigration-related benefits (for example, visa sponsorship) are not available for this position. Off Duty Management is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. This Organization Participates in E-Verify. Required Skills and Qualifications 3+ years of professional backend software development experience, including production use of Python. Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI building production APIs. Solid understanding of relational database design, normalization, and SQL query optimization (PostgreSQL preferred). Experience with Celery or a comparable distributed task queue (e.g., RQ, Kafka consumers) for asynchronous processing. Experience deploying and operating services in Kubernetes, ideally on Azure (AKS). Practical experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests (pytest or similar) as part of the regular development workflow. Working knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT, API keys, RBAC). Understanding of API security best practices (OWASP API Top 10, input sanitization, secrets management, rate limiting). Comfort with Git-based collaborative workflows (pull requests, code review, branching strategies). Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines. Clear communication and a collaborative, ownership-driven approach to working with engineers. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Experience with Azure-specific services (Azure Key Vault, Azure Container Registry, Azure Monitor / App Insights). Familiarity with API documentation tooling (OpenAPI/Swagger). Experience with message brokers supporting Celery (Redis, RabbitMQ). Experience with database migration tooling (e.g., Alembic). Exposure to observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and distributed tracing. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm). Understanding of domain-driven design or broader microservice architecture patterns. Experience scaling APIs for a growing SaaS platform.

Job description
Remote (UK / EU), Remote (UK / EU), Remote (UK / EU) We're hiring a Senior Staff Engineer to lead a new three-person squad building product categories that don't exist at tem yet: deep integration into Rosso, pricing capability, and deal-risk tooling. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role, not people management. You design, build, and review the hardest parts of the system yourself, in Python, alongside the squad. The stack is production-grade Python throughout: services built on AWS Lambda and API Gateway, state and events handled with DynamoDB and EventBridge, all wired together as event-driven architecture. You will write Python daily, both for new product integrations and for the pricing and risk logic that sits behind them. Compensation: GBP 117,850 (or local equivalent) plus equity. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus your birthday off, a remote/wellbeing budget, and fully remote working with no internal meetings on Friday afternoons. Apply: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/tem?utm_source=PythonOrg Requirements: Proven technical leadership at Staff or Senior Staff level, with evidence of leading ambiguous initiatives to real business impact Comfortable operating without a spec, shaping an undefined opportunity into something buildable Production experience with Python at scale, and fluency with AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge) Sound commercial judgement: able to reason about deal risk and revenue impact, not just delivery Track record leading a squad through technical direction and mentorship, without formal people-management responsibility Strong written and verbal communication with commercial stakeholders Bonus points: Experience in energy, fintech, or another regulated, high-stakes commercial domain Experience taking a product or company into a new international market Exposure to workflow orchestration or real-time pricing engines
