Toggl: Senior Full Stack

Company:
Location: Remote
Published: 2026-08-28

Headquarters: Tallinn, Estonia URL: https://toggl.com/jobs/ We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join one of our Product Tribes, the cross-functional units that own the end-to-end experience for a specific Toggl user role. You'll join the Tribe building for managers, the people who plan work, protect margins, and keep projects on time and on budget. You own significant parts of that experience end-to-end, working hands-on with product and design to ship work that matters. You'll do this as we build and launch Toggl 2.0, our consolidated planning, time tracking, and time intelligence product. The salary for this position is €83,000 annually. You can work from anywhere in the world as long as your main location is between UTC-4 and UTC+4.   The Role As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you own meaningful parts of the product end-to-end, from the data model and the API to the interface someone actually clicks: the technical approach, the quality of what ships, and whether it actually works for the people using it. You are accountable not for tickets closed, but for clarity, craft, and outcomes. You'll work in the Tribe serving managers, across planning and capacity management, dashboards, and billable work. This is some of the most data-dense, interaction-heavy surface area in the product: schedules and capacity views, reports, and visualizations that have to stay fast and readable at real customer scale. The interesting problems live on both sides of the API here - the query behind a capacity view matters as much as how that view renders. You'll build with React and TypeScript on the frontend and our backend services (mostly Golang) and data layer (Postgres) behind them, alongside a product manager, a designer, and engineers who are used to owning their work and pushing back when something isn't right. In a tribe of 5 other engineers, your impact and visibility are high. Our team meetings are scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 UTC. Your availability and commitment to participate in these sessions are essential for effective collaboration and team alignment. Your main responsibilities will be: Ownership and delivery Take projects from problem to production. Own the technical approach for major features front to back, break the work down sensibly, sequence it, and ship in slices rather than one big drop. Make the technical calls in your area. Choose between options, name the tradeoffs, and decide without waiting for permission or escalating routine judgment. Keep your work visible without being chased. Flag risks and slips early, keep the Tribe in the loop, and unblock yourself. Craft and quality across the stack Build interfaces people trust with dense, real-world data. Planning views, dashboards, and reports that stay fast, accessible, and readable when the dataset gets ugly. Design the data and API layer those views depend on. Model it so the feature you're building now doesn't make the next three harder. Own performance as a feature, end to end. Profile, measure, and fix the slow query and the slow render instead of hoping the data stays small. Write code others can work in. Sensible components and services, real test coverage where it earns its keep, and a codebase that's easier to change after you touch it. Working with product and design Shape solutions, don't just implement them. Push on the problem, question requirements that don't hold up, and propose simpler paths when you see one. Partner closely with design. Prototype early, spot the edge cases in a flow before it's built, and hold the bar on UX quality with your designer rather than after handoff. Stay close to users and evidence. Join user tests, read the feedback, look at the data, and let it change what you build. Raising the bar Review code with intent. Give precise, actionable feedback that makes the change and the person better. Mentor and interview. Help other engineers grow, and help us hire well. Improve things across team boundaries. Spot shared components and duplicated work between Tribes, and raise it before we build the same thing twice. AI as core leverage Use AI tools extensively in your daily work for exploration, prototyping, code generation and review, debugging, research, and writing. AI fluency is not optional. It's part of how you increase your speed, depth, and impact - and you're expected to help the rest of the Tribe get better at it too.   About You You will thrive in this role if you: Have significant experience building and shipping production web applications end to end, and can lead major projects rather than just contribute to them. Are genuinely comfortable on both sides of the stack. You're deep on one side and properly capable on the other, not someone who hands off at the API boundary. Have deep, practical knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern CSS - including state management and side-effect handling in large applications. Are solid on backend fundamentals: at least one backend language you know well, API design, relational data modelling, and enough instinct for query performance to spot the problem before production does. Prior Golang experience is not mandatory but you have to be willing to adopt it and become comfortable with it fast. Hold an extremely high bar for quality. You know what great looks like, you notice the details others miss, and you don't ship work you wouldn't put your name on. Have a knack for data-heavy product surfaces - performance, readability, and the principles behind a chart that actually communicates something. Care about the user's problem, not just the ticket. You start from what someone is trying to get done and work back to the implementation. Own outcomes, not output. You follow your work into production, watch how it behaves, and fix what needs fixing. Thrive in ambiguity and move fast. You make confident decisions with incomplete information, adapt when things change, and course-correct without drama. Are hands-on with AI tools. You actively use AI as a core part of how you build, not a side experiment, and you have opinions about where it helps and where it doesn't. Don't need to be managed. You set your own direction, keep people in the loop, and ask for help when it matters. Have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. You write clearly, explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineers without jargon, and default to async communication that others can follow. Are eager to contribute to the engineering team's growth - code review, mentoring, and interviewing included. Value transparency, ownership, and speed over perfection. You ship, learn, and improve rather than waiting for the perfect plan. Nice to have: Experience with TanStack is a bonus, and so is a real understanding of frontend caching and eventual consistency, we'd love to hire someone who's dealt with that tradeoff directly. Experience with capacity planning, scheduling, reporting, or other complex B2B SaaS products. Experience working with distributed or microservice systems, a basic understanding of infrastructure and infrastructure as code, and some experience creating, improving, or debugging CI/CD pipelines. This Role Is NOT A ticket-taker role. If you want fully specced work handed to you, this isn't the right fit. A pixel-pusher translating finished designs into code with no say in the problem or the solution. A role where you hand off at the API boundary. If "that's a backend ticket" is your instinct, this will frustrate you. A role where quality is someone else's job. Toggl doesn't have a dedicated QAteam or layer: there's no separate team that will catch your bugs, write yourtests, or own your performance regressions. A place to work in isolation from users. You'll be expected to know who you're building for and why. A role for people who need heavy process, frequent approvals, or top-down direction to do their best work.   The Team We are a global team of ~80 awesome people working from over 40 countries around the globe. We hire globally, you work locally—in the heart of London, a beach outside of Río de Janeiro, or a quiet village near Florence, the choice is yours. Every few months we travel to meet up somewhere in the world and spend some quality time together. We place a huge amount of trust in our people, and we measure the outcomes rather than the work itself. Our values fuel our results. What's Happening at Toggl Toggl is at an exciting turning point. We're taking our best-in-class time tracking - trusted and loved by millions of users worldwide - and expanding it into something bigger: Toggl 2.0. One product that brings together time tracking, planning, capacity management, reporting, and insight. The idea is simple: better time tracking creates better data, which powers everything else. We call it time intelligence. We build with AI throughout, and we think it's a real multiplier for strong engineers rather than a substitute for them. The judgment, the tradeoffs, and the accountability for what ships stay with people.   Benefits Freedom to choose when and how much you work—we only measure results 24 days of paid time off a year, plus your local holidays Unlimited sick leave In-person meetups for team-building (expenses covered) 4-6 weeks paid sabbatical (depending on tenure) Laptop budget up to 2,500€ and it renews every 3 years €2,000 budget to set up your home office and an additional €300 every year after 3 years of tenure €3,000 per year for co-working space membership and/or internet service at home €4,000 per year contribution to use for training, workshops, and conferences €2,400 per year contribution for any equipment or services to improve and/or maintain your physical and mental health Support for buying tools you need for doing your best work (even eyeglasses if you need a new pair) To apply: https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/toggl-senior-full-stack

Ellipsis®: Accounts Lead (Remote, UK/EU - £60-65k)

Company:
Location: Remote
Published: 2026-08-28

Headquarters: Oxford, UK URL: https://getellipsis.com Ellipsis is emerging as a market leader in “GEO” for B2B technology companies. This is a high-impact, hands-on role in a fast-moving and ambitious agency.   Description The transition to AI search has put a lot of the SEO industry on the back foot. Ellipsis has always been consultative/strategic in our approach, we started building AI search products in 2021 on GPT-2, and thus this has been a time for us to thrive. Today, we think we have a better understanding of AI search than almost anyone else. We have both the tracking product (built in-house), the data (~25 million AI answers for analysis, with more tracked weekly), and the execution end-to-end from strategy, to writing, to in-house design, to optimization, and performance reporting. This is a new role that further builds out our commercial function. You will be joining us at a very exciting time.   What you will own You will own Ellipsis’ client relationships. Every client should always know what we're doing, why, and what it's achieving -- without having to ask. The book should grow through renewals, expansions, referrals, and case studies. Ellipsis is an AI search agency, and our customers are predominantly B2B technology companies. We work with a lot of startups and scale-ups; B2B tech has been our bread-and-butter although we are also having success with B2C and have some very high profile clients in this area. We are UK-based but fully remote and have been since day 1, 8 years ago. A lot of the team is UK based, our core business hours are UK, but we are fully remote and there is no location requirement for this role. Our clients are a mix of UK, Europe, and US-based. Sales and delivery are working well. The gap is the layer in between: after a client signs, nobody formally owns the relationship; the story of what we’re doing and why, the communications, the renewals, the expansion conversations. Today that’s informally covered by the MD/ Founder, which caps how much the business can grow and means things slip during busy periods. Your role will be to take this over, own key accounts, and have impact across the whole business. Success looks like retaining our customers, successfully expanding and renewing accounts, and collaborating tightly with Operations, Strategy, and Sales to further our continuous improvement and growth. You will report directly to the MD/ Founder and be expected to contribute as a senior leader in the team. Supporting signals will be seen in the day-to-day: clients are not chasing us to find out what’s happening, call prep and calls have a clear story running through the deck that you own, you are nudging Operations and Strategy to ensure the voice of the customer is heard internally; and expansions, case studies, and referrals happen because someone owns them.   What you'd do Own the story for each client. What they bought, what they want, what we've done, what's next -- and tell it clearly. The team preps the data and analysis; you make it land. You own the narrative in client decks and calls. Run the communication rhythm. At the start of each week, quick updates to clients via Slack (what we did, what’s next, what’s blocked, performance highlights); ad-hoc comms throughout the week via email and Slack, and either monthly or fortnightly calls depending on the client.  Understand our clients’ businesses so you can contribute and expand. Ellipsis has an extremely consultative sales process and our clients trust us as experts. In many instances, we’re brought in to do “GEO” but end up as a strategic marketing partner. This creates expansion opportunities which you can pursue as long as you understand their business and where we can contribute more -- expansion and adding value go hand-in-hand and we build for the long-term success of the business. Be curious about AI search and strategy. AI search is changing quickly and Ellipsis is leading that change. We are constantly producing new research, looking at data, and optimizing our approach. You will work with a Strategy Lead for each account (and the Head of Strategy across the business) but need to be curious, data literate, and capable of deeply understanding what we’re doing and why -- which will let you confidently hold the room when discussing strategy, and advocate for the client’s needs effectively. Front the key relationships. For the top ~8-10 accounts, you attend the calls and run the relationship. For the rest, you own the story, ensure internal alignment, and step in on renewals, risk, or expansion (Content Managers front the regular calls). Own renewals and expansions. Spot and shape upsell opportunities, run the renewal conversations, chase case-study permissions and referrals. You’ll need to both be able to smell adjacent opportunities (we are currently one of the few agencies that can do strategy, copy, and design for a “GEO friendly website”, but don’t advertise this enough!) and guide renewals/expansions (which are always inherently tied to strategy and what more we can do for the customer). Advocate for the client internally. When work is late or off-brief, you say so and chase it. You represent what the client actually asked for, even when that's uncomfortable. Report and contribute to planning internally. You’ll join (and lead part of) the Monday morning pipeline and accounts review meeting, where we plan upcoming business and assess the state of renewals and expansion opportunities with existing accounts. You’ll work closely with Operations to ensure we have the right capacity at the right time, and work closely with Sales to ensure you understand incoming prospects and are ready to advocate for their needs internally from day one.   What this role is not Not a project manager or a status-updater. Not operations -- you flag delivery problems, the ops lead fixes processes. Not new-business sales -- acquisition is covered.   Requirements You’ll have owned complex and commercially important client relationships. In other UK agencies this is typically a mid-to-senior “Accounts Director” or exceptional “Senior Accounts Manager” role but we’re open to other roles, industries, and experiences. Marketing or SEO agency experience is probably helpful. You will need to become fluent enough in SEO and AI search to hold the room with a technical, sceptical client -- you don't produce the analysis, but you can defend it; but we’re happy for you to pick this up quickly on the job. You should be commercially confident: happy to run a renewal and ask for the expansion. Warm with clients, firm internally.   Compensation £60-65k There is no individual commission. Renewals and expansions at Ellipsis are team outcomes: Strategy, Content, Design and Operations create the value, while the Accounts Lead ensures clients understand it and leads the commercial conversation. We therefore pay a strong fixed salary and assess success through the long-term retention, health and growth of the client book.   First 90 days Shadow the founder on the key accounts, then take them over one by one. Ship the onboarding protocol and monthly update rhythm. Baseline the retention numbers. By day 90, you own the top relationships and the founder attends client calls by exception only. To be successful at Ellipsis, you need to be able to think quickly from first principles, capable of executing quickly, and driven to succeed. Whilst we’re 8 years old, we operate like a startup. The team -- a lot of whom have been with us a long time -- will tell you this is a place to learn quickly, progress quickly, and do your best work. Your capability matters a lot more to us than your experience, and we would recommend you tailor your application with this in mind. We want to hear from you rather than ChatGPT. Please keep this in mind in particular with the screening questions.   Benefits This is a full-time, 100% remote role (UK/EU based). Work from home, or the beach! We have a lot of clients in the US and California, so you'll need to be available for client and new business calls in the 5-7pm UK slot a couple of days a week (generally don't go later than this, but you'll need to be available as needed). 28 days of paid holiday An additional 1 paid holiday day a year with each year of tenure, up to a maximum of 5 additional days 4-day work week, once a month (instead of local bank holidays) Genuinely flexible working, although noting the meeting schedule requirements above Regular team retreats; last was Istanbul, previously in Edinburgh, Oxford, Madrid, and Budapest Enhanced maternity/paternity leave, and sick pay   The application process It's important we find the best candidate for this position, and our selection process will reflect this. Much of our company Wiki is externally accessible, and you're encouraged to read through this before applying. We have a very useful guide to our interview process available here. This tells you what we're looking for and reading this will significantly increase your chance of success! We'll review applications on a rolling basis but interviews start after the closing date. There's thus no benefit to rushing to apply: we will bias heavily towards your application's answers rather than your CV, and we'd love for you to take your time. We're fortunate to receive a large volume of applications. You can make your application stand out by paying special attention to the main responsibilities of this role, and "how to apply". If you think you're a fit, or could be a fit – go for it! We use video calls for interviews. You'll have video interviews using Google Meet, including with members of the Leadership team and the Founder. We understand that this is as much you interviewing us, as the other way round. Throughout the interview process, we're extremely happy to answer your questions about the business, working here, and the future of the company. The final stage of our hiring process is a paid test project, which will be similar to work you could expect to do if you were hired. We'll give you a week to complete the project, and expect it to be 4-6 hours of work. Following the completion of trial projects, we'll ask for professional references from your previous 2 managers. We ask candidates to introduce us to their references, for a 10 minute call. We do great work for clients and are building an ethical business that lets everyone do their best work. If you think you could be the next person to join our team, please apply :)   How to apply Please apply through Workable: https://apply.workable.com/getellipsis. We will decide who progresses to the next stage based on the form you submit, and your CV. Please give us a good reason to select you! Taking the time to research the role, what we're looking for, what we do, and what you can do for us will increase your chance of success. Your cover letter is where you have the space to do this. Ellipsis is an equal opportunity workplace and is committed to equal employment opportunity.   The deadline for submission is the end of the day, on 13 September 2026.
